Damon Janes was a sixteen year old who played American Football. During a game he suffered a helmet on helmet collision with a player on the other team. He walked off the field unassisted but shortly after reaching the touchline lost consciousness and collapsed. He was rushed to hospital but succumbed to his injuries three days later. The traumatic brain injury Janes suffered ultimately killed him and raised questions about the safety of American Football for High School and College children.
